House of Suntory at Harrods

The Brief

CoolShock were given a rendered design, and were asked to build, project manage and install it in Harrods.

The Approach

An onsite survey was carried out and an in-depth technical drawings had to be created and submitted to Harrods for sign off. Harrods is a Grade ll listed building so this created a challenge with the extra requirements necessary for materials, electrics and fixtures. Liaising with the client throughout the design and build process was essential to ensure that decisions were signed off by all relevant parties. Project management was key due to the added issue of The Spirit Lounge still being under construction, this meant certain dimensions were altered during the course of the build process. Also the technology in the unit was created and shipped from America, so our two companies had to work efficiently alongside each other in order to complete the project successfully.

The Outcome

The install took place overnight to prevent any disruption to Harrods staff and customers. All units fitted the feel and theme the space, and brought the render to life.

The Results

The install is in a prime position in the wine and spirits area in the basement at Harrods. The install fits in with department which has had a “multi-million pound” investment and a high quality finish.
